The 70th Independence Day, and a real tryst with destiny. To celebrate this day, I decided to draw a Rangoli of the tricolour instead of the usual rice flour kolam at the entrance to my flat.
Since it was the very first attempt, and yet learning the in-and-outs, made a not so good job of it. The household help who came later, patronizingly informed me that the dot markers are too close to each other. I placed them about two inches apart, while she said it has to be another half-an-inch away from each other. So the 2016 Independence Day rangoli did not come off as quite expected.
The other mistake was to place the green powder themselves for dot markers in the relevant stripe. In the early morning half light, and approaching middle age (!), the eyes are not what they used to be.
So I leave it to your judgement. Wish everyone a very happy Independence Day 2016 and Jai Hind.
