Airport Scanners versus FTV, AXN and others

So our Minister for Information and Broadcasting has come down hard (no pun intended) on AXN (FTV?) and other satellite channels for telecasting indecent content - basically for presenting ‘a** & t**’ shows.

Seeing that the wise men and women in the corridors of power are so Victorian, wonder if he (they) will allow security scanners in airports.  OTOH, if he has no problems with this security measure, (in fact we should think about all fanatics' contentions), then should he not have any problems with AXN, FTV and other channels for improperly ‘clothed’ catwalkers!

The news report in 'brief' (again no pun intended)
:-)

Security Scanner Can See Through Clothes 24/02/2007, By TERRY TANG, AP Top Headlines
PHOENIX (AP) -- The Phoenix airport on Friday became the first in the United States to test new X-ray technology that can see through people's clothes and show the body's contours with blush-inducing clarity.  Critics have said the high-resolution images created by the "backscatter" technology are too invasive.

The antiquated views of people in power, once again proves my contention which I voiced when there was talk of imposing Licence fee on Radio / TV sets to fund Prasar Bharathi, a la BBC in the UK.  If such licence is to be imposed, what about cellphones with FM receivers? or PC TV tuner cards? or web TV?

My contention was that the technology is fast outpacing archaic considerations and beliefs.  Hence 'rule makers' as a rule should not be more than 50, or at least the rule makers should have a ‘technology test’ before they are allowed to be sworn in - otherwise, 'rule makers' would become archaic, by-passed dragons, who would be a hindrance rather than catalysts for development.

Hey, should I do my PhD on this?
