No Janmashtami 2014 Google Doodle

Today or rather tonight is the Janmashtami, (जन्माष्टमी,  ஜன்மாஷ்டமி, janmāṣṭamī) the day which is also known as Gokulashtami, and Shree Jayanti, is the birthday of Lord Krishna.  As expected, there is no Doodle by Google celebrating the day.  The reason being, justified IMHO, not to commemorate any religious holidays with a Doodle.

So what if there is no Doodle for Janmashtami?  We can always have a doodle like banner to celebrate the birth of Krishna.  Here is a nice - perhaps the nicest - banner I came across today.

The banner is courtesy post.jagran.com, and portrays the Bala-Krishna in a playful mood.  Nice one, is it not?

BTW, Google did have a Doodle up for today, but that one  commemorates the Indonesian Independence Day, which falls on 17 August.  That doodle has a bit of modern art look, IMHO.
