The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) [dge.tn.gov.in] conducts the exams for 10th standard (SSLC) and +2 (HSC) public exams thorough the Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination (TNBSE), for the schools regulated under the School Education Department [tn.gov.in/schooleducation], also called Tamil Nadu School Education Department [tnschools.gov.in].
Go figure it out. No wonder there is such a mess implementing the Uniform Syllabus for all schools in Tamil Nadu (Samacheer Kalvi - சமச்சீர் கல்வி), even after a court decision.
Anyway, today, 9th May 2014, is the big day for the 826,000 students who took the Plus Two or Higher Secondary Exams (HSC) or more simply the 12th Class public examination. The results for the +2 / 12th / HSC exams of the TNBSE / DGE is to be announced at 10:00 IST today, 9th May 2014.
More girls took the HSC / +2 exams conducted between 3rd March to 25th March 2014. Of the 826,000 students who were examined 380,000 were boys, and 445,000 were girls. Don’t ask me about the missing 1,000 examinees - these are figures flaunted in various newspapers.
A dedicated telephone service for counselling and medical assistance for those who fail or do not score as much as they hoped for - and have dangerous or depressive thoughts about their future. The helpline can be reached by dialling 104.
The results of the +2 / 12th standard / HSC exams will be officially available at these websites and the respective schools. To find out the results online, the candidates will have to have their Exam Roll Number and their Date of Birth handy.
BTW, checking out the above links, I found even the dge1, dge2, and dge3 webpages are not uniform. However, the results should be the same whichever link you peruse.
