90.6 Pass percentage in TN Plus Two exams

The Tamil Nadu +2 / HSC / 12th standard Examination results were declared at 10:00 IST today, 9th May 2014.  The overall pass percentage was a whopping 90.6%, which is about 2.5% more than the 2013 TN +2 / HSC / 12th standard Exam results of 88.1%.

Out of 821,671 students who wrote the exams between 2nd to 25th March, a total of 744,698 candidates have secured a pass.

As usual girls outscored boys.  Out of 443, 456 girls who wrote the examination, 414, 211 had secured a pass, which is 93.4% compared to 91% in 2013.

Of the 378,215 boys who attempted the examination, only 330, 487 have managed to clear it, which works out to 87.4%, though higher than the last year’s 84.7%.

As per breaking news the number of students who scored a perfect 100 are:
  • in Physics - 2710
  • in Chemistry - 1693
  • in Biology - 652
  • in Mathematics - 3882
We still do not know how many, if any, have scored centum in all the 4 subjects.  Whether anyone has managed that feat or not, I am sure none of the 744.698 would have written Calvin’s answer.
