Well, there is no Google Doodle for Diwali this year too. Google has an unannounced policy of not Doodling on religious occasions, and personally I do think it is the correct decision. For a business to tangle with celebrating (any) festival is fraught with complications, as there would always be a religion or sect which would feel hurt and left out. So what if Google did not Doodle for Deepavali 2013?
We can always have a Moodle instead, and enjoy Deepavali. So here is the Moodle.
However Deepavali is celebrated in other parts of India, back home in Tamil Nadu, it is a festival of noise and mayhem. Bursting crackers, fireworks and sparklers brighten up the day.
Not to forget the sweets and savouries of Diwali - gorging on the many varieties is a joy in itself.
So wish everyone a Happy Diwali 2013 with a Moodle. And unlike other parts of India, Diwali is celebrated on 2nd November in Tamil Nadu (and Kerala), and not on 3rd.
:-D
