The long awaited Internet Explorer 11 for Windows 7 is finally here. Microsoft will roll out IE 11 for Win 7 over the coming week through automatic update feature. Meanwhile, if you are a guy (or gal) who can’t wait to start using it immediately, you can do so from their download page (link below).
IE11 for Win 7 is available in 95 languages and same leading standards support, improved performance, security, privacy, and reliability that are standard for Windows 8.1 users.
Internet Explorer 11 has a lot of improvements - from being faster, more secure, and with a bunch of new tools and features (which I have not tried out as yet).
As per NSS Labs study of October 2013, Evolutions In Browser Security, “Internet Explorer shows a consistently superior ability to block SEM, while providing competitive phishing protection; it leads the tested browsers in combined protections for these categories.”
For those who do not want IE to auto update (because it may break or may not be compatible with in-house programs), Microsoft has a Internet Explorer 11 Blocker Toolkit. You can download and install it from here. Take note it requires the ability to use a command window.
;-)
If you cannot wait for the Microsoft’s Auto Update, download the IE11 for Windows 7 from this link.
Take note that installing IE11 on Win7 is a System (Windows) Update, which *needs* a restart for stable, reliable system operation. Hence, before attempting the update, ensure your current work is saved and be prepared for a reboot.
