Oh well! Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind! And all that. Last year, Google marked the Indian Independence Day with a well designed, extraordinarily detailed, eye catchy Doodle, depicting a peacock - the National Bird.
This year while Google continued with the attention to detail, a Tricoloured zari ribbon spells out the word Google on the Google India home page. As a concept it evokes the fine zari or Jari work that Indian master weavers are famous for.
Google has been commemorating the Indian Independence Day with a doodle on its home page since 2003. But this time they have messed up the National Colours. That is if the Google Doodle for Indian Independence day was supposed to reflect the National colours. No doubt there is a tri-colour motif, but the first colour looks more like Gold rather than the Saffron of the Indian Tri-colour.
:-P
But then, it is certainly better than the one they put up for the Pakistan Independence Day, yesterday (14 Aug 2013). That one, surely is, a Google's version of the Da Vinci Code!
Update: Around noon Google made a colour correction. It looks more saffronish now.
BTW 3 other nations share August 15 as their Independence Day -
Once again, Jai Hind!

- the Republic of (South) Korea (1948 from Japan);

Once again, Jai Hind!
