It is now expected that Mozilla will release a half-baked, buggy version of Firefox browser and fix it soon after with a minor update. About 10 days back, Mozilla released Firefox 19. Today (yesterday night, India time) they have gone ahead and released a new, minor update 19.0.1.
But hold on! Not quite. Firefox 19.0.1, is an update *only* if we are on Windows 8. Anyone who is on Windows 7- or on Linux (or Mac) doesn’t get an update notification. In fact, if we check for updates manually, Help -> About Firefox, we will be told that the current version 19.0, is up-to-date.
So, what is new in Firefox 19.0.1?
Mozilla have fixed a stability issue for some AMD Radeon HD graphics cards on Windows 8 only. So even if we were on Windows 8, we may not actually need the bug fix release.
:-?
Thus there is nothing for non-Windows 8 users to worry about Firefox 19.0.1., (except to write about it).
