A friend of mine who is in the SEO field has repeatedly pestered me to split the monkeyshine nutworks into 3 or 4 nice blogs. What he wants are several blogs, each concentrating on specific topic.
Like one exclusively for political articles, posts and ideas. One separate blog for all articles on software and tools. A book lovers blog about all the novels and books. A plant, animal and related blog for all the guavas, dogs and cats posts.
His advice is it is the only way to break through the 300,000 mark in Alexa rankings and score a Google Page Rank of 5 or more. He says that especially after the recent Google Panda update (on 27 January), blogs like this will lose their ranking because they will not be categorized as authoritative on (any) one particular subject.
While what he says is good advice and makes sense, I am leery of splitting the blog away and unable to manage 2 or 3 or half a dozen blogs - thus making a mess of it. OTOH, such good, concerned advice is not easy to disregard.
With that in mind, as a try-out, I’ve split up the Views Under the News section of this blog into its own. Exactly one month after the last post under the category, views under the news will now be posted only on viewsundernews.blogspot.com
Let us see how it goes.
