Today (or I noticed it today), Google on its home/search page provided a link to view the Great Barrier Reef through its Street View technology.
The invitation to explore was irresistible. The link to the street view wasn’t. It was (and still is as of this writing), broken.
It led us straight to the broken down Google Robot. Certainly not one sitting in the Great Barrier Reef or any other ocean.
The problem was in the link, which specified :
http://maps.google.com/streetview/gallery.html#!/ocean
Mangling the URL like http://maps.google.com/streetview/ leads you straight to the turtle off Heron Island, Great Barrier Reef, Australia. With or without scuba gear, have a nice dip.
:-D
update: 2 hours later Google had corrected the URL which works just fine.
