After 12 years, the Kennedy Curse returns

What is with this sometimes referred to as the ‘Royal Family of the USA’ and untimely death?  I for one thought that the new millennium would gave blessed the family with better luck.  Not that 12 years is too long in the death sequence stalking the Kennedy family.

The sad news is that the estranged wife of Robert Kennedy Jr., Mary Kennedy apparently hung herself in a barn behind the family home in Bedford, NY.  The media till now, in deference to (fear of) the near-royalty status of the Kennedy family, has not uttered the dreaded ‘suicide’ word.  Remember the Kennedy’s are Catholic with all the attendant strictures against taking life, especially one’s own.

Whatever here is the untimely death saga of the Kennedy family:

• 1963: President John F. Kennedy assassinated in Dallas, Texas;
• 1968: Robert F Kennedy, brother of JFK was shot dead in Los Angeles - he was on the campaign trail for Democratic presidential nomination;
• 1984: Robert F Kennedy's son David dies of drug overdose;
• 1997: Robert F Kennedy's son Michael killed in skiing accident;
• 1999: JFK Jr died along with wife and sister-in-law when light aircraft he was piloting plunged into the Atlantic; and now
• 2012: Mary, wife of Robert F Kennedy Jr commits suicide.

Though not a a death in the family there is the ‘Chappaquiddick incident’ which involved Edward Kennedy’s acts of omission in the death of Mary Kopechne.
