My morning cuppa came out the wrong way as I read on the Deccan Chronicle
that the hottest trend in the last two days in twitter was Aiyyo!, which the Urban Dictionary explains as ‘an exclamation when something goes wrong (or) when you are misunderstood”.
More than 50 million tweets were posted in these days with the aiyyo hashtag, twiiter statistics website said. The tweeples across the country had a great time celebrating India’s first victory down under.
Gaurav Rokade tweeted “#aiyyo is trending , It means when I was asleep south Indians took over the Twitter
:\”.
That explained it all and the south Indians were celebrating their unique exclamatory expression …
But then, nothing can take away the charm of the film actress Manorama lamenting Aiyyaiyo, Aiyyo! Aiyyaiyyaiyo, Aiyyo! whenever Kamal Hasan is taken into police custody, in that charming comedy, Apoorva Sagodharargal (Tamil), which was dubbed in Hindi as Appu Raja.
(Aiyyo! Can’t find the video anywhere)
:-D
