It seems that the Editors at Dinamalar cannot make up their minds about the Election Commission of India: whether the EC did a good job or a bad job in the October local body elections in Tamil Nadu.
On Sunday, while reading the dead-tree Chennai edition, I was pleased to see the report “The Election Commission (TN) has shown what it can do with the help of NIC (National Informatics Centre)” in the Main Sheet, page 10.
A little later I couldn’t believe my eyes. In the Supplement Sheet there was an accusing report “The Election Commission announces results like a long winding marathon race”, (page 15).
It took me several minutes to confirm that my friends aren’t pulling a fast one on me; that I was indeed reading -
So today, I went hunting on the online editions of the daily. And noticed a few strange things:
the Chennai epaper did not have the same accusing report on supplement page 15 - there was another report.
the Madurai epaper also did not have the whining article anywhere
but the Coimbatore epaper,the article hailing the EC was found in the Main Sheets, page 10 (same as Chennai epaper and dead tree versions).
The Coimbatore epaper did show the article slamming the EC for releasing results slowly in the Supplement, page 15.

ROFLMAO while thanking God that my eyes hadn’t gone wonky yet!
Worth the 2 hours I had to spend hunting around for the article. Wonder how many noticed it, in Chennai and in Coimbatore?
