While I’d to beg off blogging last week for some care giving, NYT has quietly slipped in #India Ink, an India specific blog - which is a first for NYT.
It definitely goes into my Google Reader since the first few posts are thought provoking - not thunderous, mind you, but as expected of any such new venture, interesting. It goes into my Google Reader because it would give me insights into what people are looking for.
It has already modified by blogging style - following their example, in my last post ‘East and West...’ (as of today), there are mentions of origin sites in brackets, beside the URL links in posts.
As I talked about this new initiative by the NYT to my friends, they immediately zeroed in on my interests.
One guy bluntly put it, ‘You bugger, you want to get in there, don’t you?’
Yes, I want and hope to see my posts up there in NYT one day, soon.
As my GF put it, ‘You’d quit everything and become an all time NYT India Ink blogger if they offer you $50 a day as retainer’.
To which a hanger on added, ‘He would quit ‘you’ if he is offered $100 a day’. Suffice to say that he would want me to do so...
;-)
I don’t know what or what not I’d do, but whether I do get into India Ink not, I promise that this blog is for the long haul.
BTW, prayers and wishes for me to get into India Ink are optional, but welcome.
