This blog might have hit an overall 10,000 views last week, the stark fact remains that the number of followers on Twitter (or FaceBook) has remained static - at around a dozen.
The strange fact is that I recollect receiving more, much more alerts about people following me on Twitter. So the last few hours, I went back into my Gmail and actually counted the number of ‘so-and-so is now following you on Twitter’ alerts.
What do you know! I counted exactly 88 alerts from China to the United States, from Sweden to South Africa, from the Netherlands to Brazil. Yet, as of now, there are less than a dozen followers.

‘What the hell has gone wrong’, sent me thinking and take a look at all (most of) those Twitter-follow-alerts. I realised that all those who followed had specific interests. When I blogged on those specific issues which piqued their interest, they chose to follow me.
But I am not a celebrity, neither do I blog on specific issues, nor do I send ‘thank-you-for-following’ texts, which I guess puts them off and they quietly ‘Unfollow’. (Can’t blame them - whenever I found that I still follow people who don’t follow me, I ‘unfollow’ myself)

Also true is that I don’t want to change, to blog (tweet) on one single subject and discard all others - the world is too big for me (or anyone) to restrict myself (or ourselves) to one narrow path. In that you can call me an ‘Aristotelian’.
If so, what should be the moral of the story?
