The Question is 'Do the Ends Justify the Means'? On which I am not
sure. Before anyone jumps on this blog about what is correct and
what is not right, let me put the record straight that I am also
against corruption - and corruption at high places which totally
infringe on the Constitution.
But I am personally not clear on as what is the right way to go
about the correction required. Whatever we agree and arrive upon
should not make a mockery of the Constitution of India, which is
paramount.
With the preoccupation on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011, I am not
exactly clear on what exactly the differences are about. And I'd
promised my well-wishers that I'd make an honest effort to go to bed
early. Plus, I've been preoccupied with my own personal and
professional requirements for past 2 days (hence the lack of
posts).
With that in mind, a night and a fresh morning look at
issues would be the best for me to blog about the issues.
Even before, for me, who cherishes Gandhian ideals, it is a great
happenstance to see how a Gandhian protest can shake up a Government
- and it is a lesson for all of us. Another matter that how far
such Gandhian move can work against a repressive administrations
like Gaddafi, Khameni or in North Korea (or even South Korea),
China, or in Pakistan, versus how it can seize the imagination of
indulgive Government like India.
That given, I've tried to keep tomorrow free, the whole day to apply
the mind and blog about the issue. But whatever I conclue on the
morrow, it cannot take away the fact that - the Mahatma was against
a repressive regime, whereas Hazare, a Gandhian, egged on by
'page-three-personalities' is agitating against an inclusive regime.
