While the PM and his administration are bumbling and bungling over every issue, even in such simple matters on enacting a legislation for protection and control of domestic animals, it seems that the Indian Industry has lost all their capacity for shame.
Today, the country’s premier investigation agency on corruption put it on record that more than a dozen CEO’s and Industrialists of top Indian Telecom companies are being investigated for their suspected involvement and derived benefits in the Spectrum scam.
And an eminent lawyer representing one of the largest and the most respected industrial house in India, before the news of the scam and the Radia Tapes broke out, shamelessly pleaded to the Apex court to make further proceedings in the case ‘in-camera’.
Mind you, this Industrial House had already approached the judiciary to plead for a total ban on release of the leaked Radia Tapes, citing privacy issues. Of course, that individual rights of citizens, including their ‘Right to Life’, were sought to be trampled by these ‘wonderful’ sons (and daughters) of their ‘blessed mothers’, by blatantly manoeuvring to put their own alleged man as the Minister for Telecommunications for India and thus allegedly manipulate that office for their own benefit is strictly not to be taken into account.
If you, good-for-nothing-common-man, is so concerned about your well being, wealth generation and assuring your future, you should buy the shares of these companies - not crib about how they acquire or run their business.
:-P
There seems to be a certain logic behind the way these people seem to think: American history has shown us that 80 years back, that nation was made into a great economic powerhouse because of Robber Barons. When such superb results are already proven, let us follow in their footsteps and ape them. That should make us into a great economic powerhouse too!
This certain logic seems to add: We should also not forget that President Obama, a few hours back, addressing the National Governors’ association has also acknowledged that Americans have to compete economically with India. This proves that our robber-baron-inspired policies over last 8 years are starting to bear fruits.
My Wicked Half whispers, ‘And, just forget that Russia tried the same thing 18 years back and has gone to the dogs!’
:-P
update: Within just a few hours, US Supreme Court denies ‘personal privacy’ to artificial entities.
