Messers Rottens should Thank God for not being in USA

This should definitely go in as a Hit in my books.  Without being aware that the US Supreme Court is about to rule on the claim of ‘personal privacy’ by a Corporation (AT&T), was the post about rot in India Inc written, yesterday.

Within a few hours the US Supreme Court in an unanimous verdict practically slammed the corporation’s case that when it comes to government records, that an artificial entity cannot claim ‘personal privacy’ to try and keep such records out of public domain (rather under Freedom of Information Act).

So what does it do to our own alleged fixers primping around as honest and upright CEOs and Chairmen of huge Corporations revealed in the Radia Tapes.

One wonderful son of a blessed mother has already gone pleading to the Supreme Court of India to try and keep those records out of public record, citing what else - personal privacy.
:-D

One just wonders whether that saintly conduct was inspired to further his company/corporation’s business interests or his own.  If it was to further his company’s business interests, then as per the (US) court ruling, his company (on whose behalf the saint was hustling) cannot claim personal privacy.

If OTOH, he claims it was entirely in his personal capacity, then he should be tried for treason, for trying to sabotage the formation and working of a democratically elected Government.
8-O

OTOH, the Radia Tapes are part of government records, transcripts and recordings of telephone taps as a part of Income Tax (evasion) investigation, and as such not necessarily to be kept under wraps.
:-E

Now if the Indian Supreme Court also takes the same line as the US Supreme Court, for there is no reasonable explanation (to my mind) of not doing so, it is going to be a lot more fun.  It seems, We, the people of India, are in line to hear more sleaze to ooze out of the Radia Tapes.

My Mischievous Half murmurs, ‘Reminds me of Sandeep’s cartoon in December 2010, the Tata Salt March’.
