Bearded, turbaned Superman is next

Don’t be surprised if we find a Superman who sports a beard and a turban in the next movie.  The politically correct class seems to have take their correctness to absurd levels.  Though the US Army has relented and granted religious accommodation to the first enlisted Sikh in 26 years, it would be too much to expect Superman with a beard and turban - especially this beard and turban.

All the same, the point of this post is that one British of Pakistan origin has been denied a part to play in the Hobbit film.  The reason was that she was ‘too’ brown and hobbits are said to be of ‘pale’ skin.  The casting agent who refused her has lost his/her job.

Have we lost all perspective?  In trying to be politically correct and non-racist, are we becoming ‘absurdly-correct’?  What exactly is the harm in calling a Paki (or even me) a brown skinned or too brown?  It is what she will be - being a Paki (as I am - being an Indian), and always will remain brown, unless we try some wacko-jacko stuff.

Or if it is the part, then too it is absurdly-correct.  Reading the book and the earlier movies, it would and does seem correct that hobbits are fair-skinned.  It would be illogical to presume that there has to be black, brown or mongoloid looking hobbits.

Come on guys.  This is too bloody much.
