It is not often you find a political party tying itself up in knots, but when you actually experience one, it is WTH moment! Not that it is unique to India, as we can all see the US GOP all tied up in knots. Not that the Democrats managed any better. But back home it is hilarious.
The right wing Shiv Sena has called for Burqa ban for whatever reasons it has justified itself. But, the self same party in 2005 had insisted on women not to wear revealing clothes, presumably because it attracts rape.

I mean, just get it straight. Should women reveal or cover themselves up? It is too facetious to change one’s viewpoints based on whims and fancies within 5 years.
If revealing clothes are a no-no, then burqa should not be problem, it should be a welcome measure.
OTOH, if burqa is a no-no, then mini skirts should not be a problem, they certainly are welcome to the eyes!
Make up your mind guys, we certainly can’t afford our women to revamp their wardrobe every five years.
But more important, Deepavali is coming up and should the girls buy gagra-choli or not?
