Face the enemy where you’re strong

Not where your are at a disadvantage – that concludes today’s post headlines.  If there is a bomb threat reported on board a flight, the 1st instinct should be to get the flight on the ground.

Where the threat can be countered.  And such a landing should be, God given, at your strongest point, if possible.  Where you can deploy your utmost.  But instead a flight allegedly under a bomb-on-board threat was not allowed  to land in Delhi where the nation’s security is concentrated at the most, instead diverted to Kolkatta, which would have meant diversion of forces.

Alexander the Great must be weeping, and so must have been all the great Kings of India, from Chadragupta Maurya to Chatrapati Shivaji including the modern Generals, including Sam Manekshaw and Sunderji.
