The 2nd blooper of the day, in the same Deccan Chronicle, a recommendation to dilute the AFSPA in Kashmir by a well respected Security Analyst sent me on a ‘wild-google’ chase through my Google Reader for articles marked ‘Kashmir’.
The chase gave up a whopping 320 articles going back to July and cost me a couple of hours to read through. What I was looking for was ideas or solutions to the Kashmir issue, if not permanent, at least, out of the present violent phase.
And the fact is everyone seems clueless and just keep popping off some half baked ideas, which they *hope* would break the present violent phase. Each and every one of them, offering such crackpot ideas, either haven’t thought of their long term consequences or even the next-step. Seems a severe case of ‘just-get-out-grunting’ – which people resort to when they are constipated.
And when their Piles start to hang out, as they eventually will, they start running around, showing (us) others, their backsides and expecting us to stuff it back in. Yuck!
Let us just take a look at the ‘grunting’ going on now:
Actually I had explicitly questioned whether we are going to import terrorists? Elsewhere I had also commented that terrorists don’t understand mercy or kindness – they understand only terror – Omar Abdullah appeared (appeared, mind you) to go soft on separatism with that ‘let-in-misguided-youth’ sentiment and this is the result.
Hope at least now people learn.

Let us just take a look at the ‘grunting’ going on now:
- Dilute or dispose off the AFSPA as stated above and also here – If AFSPA is thus done, will the agitation die down? Exactly the opposite will happen.
- ‘Calculated risks’ to defuse situation and also lifting of AFSPA – Again apart from AFSPA, what are these ‘calculated risks’? - To me calculated risk is to impose indefinite curfew and keep shooting the violent protestors – by my ‘calculation’ this starve-and-shoot policy will bring results in next 90 to 120 days. (Just joking)
- War to win over minds of people, fight against separatism – What the hell have we been doing all these years? If any other citizen, apart from a Kashmiri separatist talks even half of what they do, that citizen will find himself behind bars within a week.
- Trilateral talks and 1989 positions – Nothing about other refugees like Kashmiri Pandits chased away from 1985 – so the ethnic cleansing can start again?
- Political package, Trilateral talks and what not – While on the subject, why not hand over Kashmir (including Jammu, Ladakh and Leh) to the Pakistani basterds?
- Don’t meet the separatists – If we are going to meet the even moderates only with the Gun in hand and with armed forces, can there be ever a solution? But the same ‘worthy’ wouldn’t have minded partaking tea and biscuits with a far more hardliner like Mehbooba Mufti.
- Out of the Box solution, Reaching out to them & Wean away the separatists – There appears to be a faux pas in report; Shouldn’t it be ‘outside the box’ solutions?
- As my wicked half whispers ‘aren’t we already doing these?’ -
- ‘out-of-box’ solution - shooting down the separatists and putting them in the box!
- ‘reaching out’ – yes, reach out to the terrorists, with the bullets and ‘touch’ them!
- ‘wean separatists away’ – yup, wean their soul away from their body!
- >:->
