Please, I am Sorry and Thank you for making me

‘Please’ and ‘Thank You’ are the small change with which we pay our way as social beings – Thus wrote ‘Alpha of the Plough’ in his essay ‘On Saying Please’.  A hundred years later, it seems he would’ve had to write that ‘Sorry’ is how we keep the machine of life oiled and running quietly.

The supermodel Gisele Bundchen remarked that breastfeeding should be made law – a remarkable sentiment and to be welcomed by all.  But these days saying something, anything seems to be politically not correct.

Barely 2 days later, a bunch of pinkos have forced Gisele to apologise.  I really don’t know what the world is coming to.

Forget that breastfeeding is good and beneficial –
  • to both baby and mother says American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists;
  • breastfed babies make better teens says a 14 year study in Australia;
  • protects mothers’ hearts after menopause says University of Pittsburgh study;
  • lack of breastfeeding costs lives and billions of dollars says CDC report;
  • WHO recommends exclusive breastfeeding for first 6 months of a baby’s life.
In spite, just because some mother’s who cannot breastfeed for medical reasons ‘may feel offended’ by Gisele’s comments, there were howls and she has had to apologize.

What a bunch of clowns!

What we need are more cartoons like this Porky Pig one – trust me, it is an actual, true, original WB cartoon – not a Photoshop / MovieMaker touch-up.
