Dictators are Good for the Goose but not the Gander

The top Burmese General’s visit to India this week has attracted attention of the bleeding hearts, concern that it undermines US position, protests and criticism of the Burmese junta and generally seems to be a lament that India (of all countries) has chosen to ease up relations with Burma.

Now, the West can -
  • host exiled radical  ayatollahs
  • prop up & support Saddam against the ayatollahs,
  • build up &  terrorists - Mujahideen (just 1 example),
  • firmly back Pakistani dictators - Zia Ul Haq and Pervez Musharaff,
  • hobnob with communists for 2 pandas - Richard Nixon,
  • turn a blind eye to apartheid - in South Africa,
  • wax glory on a cannibal dictator -Idi Amin,
  • offer refuge to terrorists & secessionists, and
  • succor fraudulently elected presidents.
All of whose perceived problems are hundreds or thousands of miles from the ‘West’.
But let India try to safeguard and protect its borders and achieve some energy security by being practical with a neighbour!  A neighbour from where the nation was invaded – yes – invaded  by the Japanese forces in World War II.

Don’t believe me?  Take a look at this BBC animation :

burma campn

Next these guys would ask for Earl Mountbatten of Burma to be outcast - because he has 'Burma' attached to his name.
