Politicians love something in their mouth - even their feet

It seems that it is not only Indian politicians and page three blokes who commit gaffe.  It appears to be universal.
  • Robin Williams called the Australians ‘English Rednecks’ , and
  • an offended Ozzie PM Kevin Rudd suggested that he visit Alabama, implicating that 'rednecks’ are found there;
  • which in turn prompted the Governor of Alabama Riley to rise to defend the state’s honour.
It seems the only difference between them and Indians is that no suits have been filed for offending.

Back home in India, one can be sued for even using a slang in fiction, which is supposed to have ‘hurt the sentiments’ or caused ‘communal disharmony’ [http://www.dnaindia.com/mumbai/report_bombay-hc-directs-police-to-let-off-writer-murzban-shroff_1361491]
