The J&K CM called for an amnesty for terrorists presently on the other side of the border. So they can be allowed to return and settle in J&K. It appears that the Centre too is in agreement. Of course, these terrorists are not terrorists, but ‘youth gone astray’. I think whole cockeyed idea sucks.
It seems that we, the people of India do really believe in ‘turning the other cheek’. Knowing fully well the ideological orientation of the Maoists, the GoI wanted to talk them out. It was only the attack on Sildah by Maoists (Feb 15) so close to the Pune blast (Feb 13), which must have nixed that idea. And now we have these buffoonery.
If one terrorist is to be entertained, will the others be far behind? If Kashmiri terrorists are welcome, what about Khalistani terrorists?
As it happened the father of the 'father-of-this-brainwave' proposed that too – that the Khalistani terrorists in GOI blacklist and living in exile should also be welcomed back.
In the backdrop of these clownish ‘let-us-let-terror-back-in’ thinking comes the report that the J&K terror groups are leaderless. The ‘purse-n-kill’ policy has taken down all the leaders of HuJI and JeM in Jammu area and their cadres are in disarray.
Update: As for Punjab, a recent report claims that KLF (Khalistan Liberation Force) terrorists frequently visit Pakistan.
So, why do we attempt these things –
There are some people with sense of course. The Chattisgarh CM says Maoists deserve bullet for bullet. My kind of guy as I wrote in Why shoo them ? Just shoot them!

So, why do we attempt these things –
- invite terrorists back from where they have been cleared? or,
- make it easy for terrorists to visit each other ?
