The Indian Army has been shamed by the alleged act of its high ranking officers in the 'Sukhna Land Scam'. Not to prejudge the issue, but even if they are found innocent in the end - the mere fact that the Army had reasons to initiate a COI (Court Of Inquiry) should be enough for them to 'bite the bullet'
More ignominious is the way former Army Officers spoke out in the TV - Times Now and CNN IBN on 1st December. One former Colonel said something like 'I served with them when we were juniors; One of them was my NDA batchmate. They had highest integrity and no way they can do this ...'
Another retired Captain said 'This is happening because the Army is not paying its officers well and so they resort to all of these ...'
One more brilliant utterance was 'This is because the senior Army people have to interact with civilian bureaucracy and it is absorbing bad elements of civilians. We should take seperate both ...'
What a bunch of bullshit.
If I was a constitutional authority, I'd have given 2 swift kicks on their backsides - atleast and if not elsewhere

The 1st comment about 'was-good-once, so-innocent-now' is like saying Madhu Koda's alleged corruption cannot be true since he had highest integrity when he was a welder.
The 2nd comment about 'no-money, gotgreedy' should be told to all those farmers who are still committing sucides.
AFAIK Army officers, unlike farmers, are:
neither eating rats:
