This is pure Shyte - literally. There is a Belgian company which has built a machine that does no useful work or function, but just digests food and ... shits.
Yeah. It is true. There is a company named Cloaca which has been building machines right from around 2000 which mimics a human digestive tract.
They put in the food and after being processed in a food processor is pumped along the 6 glass jars filled with acids, bile, pancreatin and other digestive enzymes. The machine thus digests the food, extracts all the energy and finally spits out ... shit.

And no one is doing some practical (meaning research) work with them, like understand better the digestive process - but then, these machines are considered "art" and have been put up in Museums & places of art - in Europe, where else?
