21st May is the birthday of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, creator of the unbeatable ‘private detective’ Sherlock Holmes. Google celebrated Conan Doyle’s 147th birthday with a Doodle. The doodle is a throwback to simpler times, and does not have the glitzy look of 21st century.
The letters “OG” in the world Google are replaced by a silhouette of the Sherlock Holmes, with the trademark deer-stalker hat, pipe and a magnifying glass – looking at a set of footprints. The letter “L” is taken by a Victorian lamp post. There is no sign of Watson or the fictional 221B Baker Street.
