One of the best Sundays I have had; because it was a fantastic 'onion-sambar' for Sunday brunch.
And i had my first taste of onions in almost 3 months. What with religious vows followed by 'pitr-paksha' and 'Dushera', my taste buds have been tuned to (almost) 'Jain' food. Along with an nicotine & beer 'free' lifestyle, well, I could say that life was 'taste-less'.
The upside ? I am slimmer, trimmer, clear-eyed and bushy-tailed. (yet to catch the early worm or acorn, though - LOL)
So Sunday's brunch was nice - made me remember a Robert Browning poem:
(& the line within brackets is my own)
The year's at the spring,
And day's at the morn;
Morning's at seven;
The hill-side's dew-pearl'd;
The lark's on the wing;
The snail's on the thorn;
(There's Onion on the table;)
God's in his Heaven --
All's right with the world !
-- Robert Browning (1812–1889)
