Today is our Republic Day – 57th anniversary of the day when we decided that power should vest ‘in the people’, rather than by inheritance or divine mandate. But 26th January 2006 is also the 250th birth anniversary of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (26 January 1756 – 5 December 1791). Google celebrated the anniversary with a Doodle for Mozart – depicting some musical notes.
Mozart was one of the best classical composers of western music, and his work influenced subsequent western music and art. Beethoven in the early days worked under the influence of Mozart’s music. Mozart was a prolific composer, and more than 600 works are attributed to him.
